Until Kendra gets time to leave an update, I thought i would post her latest e-mail as of last night....
"Steve remains in ICU and needed to have surgery today to have a filter placed in his artery to prevent blood clots. He was not as alert today because of the surgery, so he really needed his rest. There is a balance between the recovery from his broken legs and moving his systems out of critical status. Each morning the doctors argue over him, which he just loves…. Not. His surgery wants him to move more, to work faster at standing, move to rehab sooner and his other doctor wants to get his blood and breathing more stable. His hemoglobin is improved, although not where it needs to be, but they need to start moving on the leg recovery. The plan is to move him tomorrow to the rehab center and I advocated to a closer one, so the hope is that he will be moved to Garden City Hospital via ambulance tomorrow. Although I will not know for sure until tomorrow.
My uncle will be helping me with a web page, so when that is up and going, I will let you know and there I will ask for help and give updates and such.
As you can see the prayers are working, he has called me by phone several times, which I love, means he is improving greatly and he talked to the girls over the phone, which wore him out but they were so pleased."

I am so glad you were able to post that comment and email from Kendra. It helps a lot towards keeping us all informed. I am the uncle Kendra mentioned in her email, and suggested this blog method as a means of posting updates and progress. We are all hoping for Steve's speedy recovery and anxious for news but don't want to bother Kendra with redundant requests.
